Founded in 1874 by several prominent summer residents of Houghs Neck, QuincyYacht Club is the second oldest private yacht club in the United States. The most well-known member was Charles Francis Adams III, the descendant of two U.S. Presidents, a Quincy Mayor, helmsman of the 1920 America's Cup defender Resolute, and secretary of the U.S. Navy under Herbert Hoover. Starting in 1909 Q.Y.C. was internationally known for it's "Cat Boat" sailing competitions.

With all of its character and charm the site does present some challenges not foreseen during the age of the horse drawn wagon. Parking and access to the site can be difficult at times. We ask that you consider car- pooling or "ride share" options to minimize the frustration experienced by some of our guests. Please consult your event planner for specifics.
